Things just ain't what they used to be....

I told my husband that I had aged before my time...Mr. O'Quilts said no...that I was right on schedule!!!  Our mattress was 20 years old...it was time for a new one.  Seizing the before sale sales...our choice came today.  Hmmmmm, in 20 years things have changed.  Number 1...our old mattress cover no longer fits.  Number 2...Now this old lady needs a stool to climb into the bed....Number 3....My quilts no longer fit...How did this happen?????  Who needs a bed this fat?  We did not notice that part in the store...Very comfy once we are in it...One more reminder that....well...I just will not say it!!!   Times have changed....
Just look...One new mattress is going to require a whole new revamping of my bed...Twenty years ago, we commissioned the bed,  hand made by a friend in Miami, from Mahogany...looks like the quilts no longer do it justice.

The same thing happened to my mother. Her new mattress came to the house while she was recovering from knee replacement surgery. Dad had to cut serveral inches off the legs of the bed. Mom doesn't care if her quilts fit or not.

It's not you, it's the mattress. My dad constructed a wooden platform to help my mom "climb" into bed.
