As for the fake tree...it came with real delight.
It was put up by the family...kids and their mother. help.
After all...Grandma...Your knees won't let you water a fresh one.

The smile on your grandson's face is precious. I remember when my father died I didn't want to do anything for Christmas and then 2 weeks before Christmas I had to put up the tree because Christmas is for children and how would I explain it to them that I didn't want to have anything to do with it.
Kids don't appreciate decorator type trees. They love their trees to have all their homemade and chosen ornaments. That is what makes Christmas special for them. When they are older they will appreciate the family ornaments.
Our artificial tree saw us through several spiritless Christmases. Now it is as much Christmas as a real one.
The beaming smile on that boy's face says there is Christmas Spirit in that tree.
