The Saturday Gratitude

Today I finished another guy cuddle quilt for the hospital...I backed it with an ancient print that I found in my stash!!  Done!
My 28 year old daughter-in-law has very very few family belongings.  Her mother died in January and her grandmother died a few years back.  She has few caring relatives left.  When I was going through things in the garage, this quilt was peaking out...I took the  liberty of washing it and will give it to her soon.  It is probably from the 50's or 60's, machine made and hand tied.  Looks like it is filled with a blanket.  It is self bound by hand.  No name is on it, but I think she will be happy to have it back all washed and ready to use, family love at its best.

At four years old, this one is a self-starter.  She took her new bean bag chair (I found at Aldi) to the window where she is reading to her stuffed animals.  P.S.  See what the deer did to my Hosta!!
When you are four, there are some things about you that are just adorable!

  1. Giving that quilt a good clean for your daughter in law is such a lovely thing to do. It's such a great quilt, I love the string blocks going in different directions. Your grandaughter is a sweetie for reading to her stuffed toys.

  2. Love the picture of your granddaughter snuggled under a cute girlie quilt. I made one using the Christmas cut out dolls and their clothes. Fun backing too! Ouchy on the deer eaten hostas. Rabbits are eating my vegetable plants!
