The Butterfly and the Gift

Safe travels Mom...You are now the butterfly.

Alice Franzen Clemons Burt
May 5, 1921-May 9, 2014
age 93

"Wailing of the sirens
Calling after me
I can hear them screaming
"Emergency!!"
Ageless, weightless, spirit, I,
like a snowflake in the sky,
soaring, floating, dreaming, I,
transient like a butterfly!"

The Gift:   Holding Mom's hand all night.  Although she was unresponsive, I had a good time catching her up on the latest family gossip.
Mom, you gave me your strength that night so that I would be able to carry on.
Thank you!!  I love you so very much.

  4. My dear. I'm so sorry.
I did not feel good about her condition after the fall. You are so fortunate to have been able to have been with her at the end. She knew you were there.
    Peace be with you all.

  5. I am truly sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother, but rejoice in your being there for her transition and am grateful you will gain new connections and understandings about loss and never losing in so many other ways. Know that my heart hurts for you in this world but sings an eternal song of continuity in another. Many, many hugs dear friend.
