I hope you are never a widow.
At the assisted living facility where my mother lived...
there were 80 women and 9 men....
So, just in case...
You can read my blog to see what it is like.
Today is 6 months a widow here.
Social Security is still not in.
I got the grandchildren off on the school bus.
Then, I went back to bed.
Why get up, she said??
Now, at 1:30, I realize that we need dinner and Stephanie will be here soon.
She will not like what she sees.
So I am off to Trader Joe's to get
their famous Oreo cookies
Why not, she said?
xxoo
Sorry you aren't having a good day but you what, that is okay. Shorter days are coming, make sure you get some sun.
ReplyDeleteDiane, my dear friend - my sister Sharon, nine years a widow, says to tell you that it's OK, to cry, it's OK to stay in bed all day, that it's OK to feel however you feel. Thinking of you. Sending love and hugs from California where I,m with two of my sisters until October 8. xoxo
ReplyDeleteEllen.
Some days the ocean just sends such huge waves that you can only snuggle in your bed and wait for them to wash over you. Let your bed hold you close and feel your feelings. It's okay. Even normal ~ ~ if you can ever call grief normal.
ReplyDeleteAnd, remember, Stephanie can't understand what you feel ~ ~ but you are showing her how to live and love and grieve. and that's okay too. Hugs!
There is no right way or wrong way to grieve...just your way. There is no statute of limitations, either. Do what you need to do to get through it. (hugs)
ReplyDeleteSix months -- I can imagine it seems at once like a blink of an eye & like an eternity.
ReplyDeleteThe odds are not in favor of any of your women readers. All we can do is to fully live & love in each day & learn from those who know the way.
I hope today is a more positive day for you, where you play with fabric and take care of yourself.
