The Storm Thing......

How do I survive a sleet storm without my Dear Man???
I do not know...I just do not know...
Maybe when a complete year goes by I will know.  Just maybe....
Meantime...I am working on Cotton and Steel Scrap quilt.
Cotton and Steel is all about bravery.
Forecasters are screaming ..."Major Winter Storm".

..And "The Wind Still Wails for You"
....said my mother in her poem.

Neither vino tinto, nor chocolate fixes this one.

My grands saw both parents today.
Their mother for two hours, then met their daddy at Chic-fil-A
Everyone happy and calm but Grandma.
Grandma carries it all.
Maybe the Cotton and Steel should be for her.

  1. Hey, the fabric is lovely! Sew away some of your stresses! And chocolate and wine might help too!! We're all melting in the heat here. It will be Australia Day on the 26th, think of us all doing bar be cues and celebrating that day!

  2. Your cotton and steel blocks are so different from what i imagined. The sashing in the blocks really adds the extra dimension. I think this will be a marvellous quilt for you.

  3. You'll be one - just do what all the Charlotteans do, stock up on milk, bread and. Toilet paper and then hunker down! With wine and chocolate, obviously. We are headed to the mountains this weekend, and are supposed to get a foot or two of snow. Yikes. This was not my idea of a vacation! Stay warm and just keep sewing. Those pinwheels are glorious!

  5. I have complete faith in your survival skills. You may get tired of forging forth without your dearest one, but you are so very capable.
Yes, stock up & hunker down & continue with the bravery quilt.
    Hug. Hug. Hug.
