Tonight my friends helped me stuff tissue holders for the holidays
All put in nice new baskets from Goodwill..... on senior Tuesday.
My heart....
Chain piecing in the wee hours....
Three dollars each for 100% cotton men's shirts..Goodwill...
I have such a small amount of fabric...I have to scrounge around, you know.
In desperation, I found this leftover chocolate in the pantry.
Disgusting!!! Even I could not eat it...Emily????
Every Wednesday night for 15 years, I have had a quilting group at my house.
We sew, and we laugh and we eat.
We are friends.
Now-a-days, when they leave, I cry and feel despair.

For it is nine o'clock when my man used to come home from tennis.
He would say Hi to all and make himself a healthy smoothie.
Now at nine o'clock, everyone leaves and he does not come home.

Now at nine o'clock, everyone leaves and he does not come home.
The silence screams that he is dead and gone.
My crazy brain.
Mr.O'Quilts was a health nut.
ALS did not care.
You found some great shirts at a great price. Shirts at my local goodwill are $8 each. I wish for you that one day the memories will warm your heart and not make it so sad.
ReplyDeleteLove the tissue holders. I never stopped to think about the people that stuff them. Good work. Nice shirts.
ReplyDeleteSending glove your way xx
ReplyDeleteI know you never NOT miss your dear Mr., but I would imagine that there will always be especial triggers.
ReplyDeleteSending another ether hug.
I think the thing that is the hardest is that grief is such a lonely place and it makes us feel so separate and apart. When the waves wash over you, let them come. Tomorrow will come. Sometimes we just have to lie down and let the pain exist.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about your health nut and ALS ~ ~ none of these enemies fight fair. Not cancer or ALS or heart diseases. I remember my children's fourth grade teacher trying to teach her students that life is not fair. What a hard lesson.
by sharing your grief and pain with all of us, you help to fend off the isolation and self-centeredness of it ~ ~ You let us help you bear it ~ ~ for as long as life goes on. It's an honor to walk with you.
