News...Welcome and not so Much

The weekend held a stunning day here in the Piedmont..
Chilly, but prime for an hour, reading in the sun.
Experimenting tonight with flannel burp cloth making

Using up scraps, I made this for CMQG outreach. It is my 3rd out of 5.
Backing is the cutest monkey fabric.
Old habits die slowly....I almost did not want to use it.
Saving it for the trailer hitched to the hearse, I guess.

Cynthia at Wabi-Sabi Quilts shared this post...handmade shashiko type mask!!!
Cynthia now lives in Tokyo..I just love this.

I have gone completely over the top on Amazon Prime ordering things like hand sanitizer.
Lysol, gloves...etc...Today's box even had two packages of Oreo cookies to calm my nerves..
Alas...I may never get to eat them...

Story now about my horrid yesterday,
I finally got in a visit to Mr. Wonderful, the hernia doctor.
Started out pleasantly enough...and boy were they all on the ball...The nurse practitioner,
The nurse, the doctor himself, the secretary.

However, it turned out not to be a prelude to vacation.  Not!!
They had all done their homework..
I see you have had Melanoma...is it under control?
I hear that your family life is stressful, I am sorry.
I see that you have never had a colonoscopy...
I see that you have a fibroid that has not been checked on in 15 years.
Jeeze Louize...no secrets there  AND
I see you need to lose 20 pounds belly weight before any operation.
Bye Bye Oreos...

I wanted to say Bye Bye doctor as well...but he is supposed to be the best..
Mr Wonderful insisted that I have all of the above taken care of before he does surgery on my hernia.
And, he found two hernias, not just one..

I wanted to say....MYOB  especially about the colonoscopy...really!!!!
He said that if anything is found by the GI person or the GYN...We will have one big surgery party..instead of three small ones. ...All doctors present to help..and no champagne for me.

Honestly I needed a big chocolate bar after that visit.
So, not what I had expected.
I made fresh carrots and spinach tonight for dinner.
The children were thrilled...they so seldom have that for a treat......

All this the news you did not need to know!!
Blogging and Sewing to the rescue...just for today.

Wow! You got slammed! I started Radiation therapy for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of my left eyebrow yesterday..I go every day for 20 days..gotta get rid of this animal! Last year I was in the same boat as you with anHiatal Hernia along with Diverticulitis..They wanted to operate on me for several surgeries...I voted to have none, and am fine, but that is not always an option! I feel for you..

Your quilt to donate is just charming. I love the colors!
What a difficult day at the doctor's office. Too much all at once. Whew! I hope for better days for you -- this week, and next, and next, etc.!

I love the quilt and the burp cloth.
The doctors appointment would have knocked anybody for six. So much information to process. I am trying to lose weight to help my joints and it is not easy. It is a vicious circle, not able to exercise as much, so no weight loss.
I hope you soon have better news.

Well, this is what I believe is called a REALITY CHECK, holy shit. I wish I was sitting with you a sipping a whiskey. By the way...I thought your burp bib was a panty liner and thought how organic.

It's good to use that cute fabric and what a sweet quilt you've made. Sorry about your difficult health issues. Sometimes when it rains it pours.

Guess you're going to have a busy schedule for a while and no Oreos!!!!!
