Sew Happy Sewing Stuff...and Family, Of course.

Lynsey lost her phone this past week for two days and nights. She lost it for unspeakable verbal crimes against her grandmother.  She said that since she now had nothing to do without a phone, she might as well sew...hmmmm

She found a Halloween collection I had gifted myself during a low time.  She was thrilled that they all matched.  This Halloween mug rug, made in Lynsey's own style, now graces our coffee table with a pumpkin on top.

It seems that when I am so beside myself, I can hardly stand it, a surprise comes.

Last night I was gifted a lovely Tula Pink plastic zippy  bag...I love it!!

I bought some new dishtowels online because ours were totally disgusting.

New rule in my house...If you want to clean up some slop...We now have a rag bag in the laundry room!!

Someone already out for a walk on a cold and rainy Portland day!!

Had a visit with Jackie the other day.  I gifted her a plastic bag holder.

Me thinks I am now getting carried away with blogging after last night's trauma.

Practice Self Care

Stress, stress is everywhere ..We had better practice self-care.

What does that mean???

For me, it means splurging on fabric sales. Fabric has increased in cost to $11.95 a yard.

That is hard to swallow. This fabric was $4.95 a yard. It is wonderful.

Sitting outside in 75 degree weather on a sunny day!! Nothing better!!

Funky new old lady half glasses to match my eyes...how very vain!!

I just guessed at the lens strength, 2.75.  I think it is too strong.

Right outside my sewing room window is Ms Carolina Wren and her eggs.

Soon, I see two Carolina Wrens. 

 According to my dear birder friend,  Mr Carolina Wren comes to help out, once the babies have hatched. 

Amazing knowledge!! I cannot see the babies but I can hear them.

So can Stitch, therefore my son encased the nest area with chicken wire.

Just for the record, this is ALS awareness month.

I married this wonderful man June 1, 1980. I was so lucky and I am so grateful.

The two year finish(:

 I know that you all thought that I had finished this in 2010 when I posted the top...but oh, no...you would have been wrong.  I finished it today....Our quilt show is coming up..they were short on quilts so in this one goes.  The quilt is tied and big stitched and of not sufficient stitching quality for a quilt show...However, I do love this quilt and feel like sharing it anyway.  I am glad that the upcoming show gave me the push that I needed to finally be done with it.  Looking forward to a cuddle with it in front of the fireplace after the show on March 9.

The back used the secondary HST's from the snowball corners!!  Yup frugal even before Lent:)

I visited my mother today.  I told her about my Lent commitment...no more buying of new fabric.  She said...Oh, my Dear, that sounds sooo religious..!! 

 That mother of mine was resting in bed eating the rest of her lunch at 4 pm.  She had gone on the wheelchair bus to a fancy restaurant where she had ordered Eggs Benedict, Creme Brulee and a glass of French wine.  I was a bit taken back at this telling of the story.  But, she soon added that the French wine was not good and her caregiver said that she could send it back and not pay for it...TBTG.....Oh, Mother!!!
