Acceptance of Life on Life's terms...OMG

Family on the run...left Portland for better air...Here they are in Idaho!!
Over night the air changed in Idaho from clear to hazardous.
Emily told them both to smile....Only the baby listened!!

We do not want our dear Aoife to breathe nasty air.
Bye bye Idaho...hello Missoula, Montana.
Seven weeks old and already has been in three states!!
Clearly she loves them all!!

                   NOOOOOO!!!

Now Missoula, Montana is forecasting  hazardous air tomorrow. The winds must have changed...

.Em said there are fires everywhere...They are deciding where to go next as she forgot her passport. I am so stressed...not that I can do anything about anything.  The only thing I can do is:

Just go Sew...!!  So I put this UFO on the design wall...of course I have lost a block...of course!!

When ALS was in my life, I had to buy fabric... I would look for hours online putting things in and out of my cart on several sites..It would calm. me...Now with COVID, with fires, with remote schooling, I am back at it again...not much but a little , to calm my nerves...my poor aged nerves!!

This Day of Mine.

Looking over my day at the Guild sit and sew..
I finished 5 potholders...Now I have 26 ready for the holidays.
Worked on a few Delectable Mountain blocks.
Dropped everything, thread, instructions...etc, spilled my diet coke, cried, ironed a
sore onto the table that was not mine and had to have everyone help me
like I was an old woman in pain...But laughed in the comfort of friends.

Whatever...Last year, as you know, I asked Santa to make me a bit younger
and a bit less achy, but oh,, no he could not be bothered.
I will try again this year.
I am so very grateful for Linda and Kathy and all their help today. ...

Meantime, my messy  sewing room has attracted Lynsey and her
school project.  The assignment is to design her teacher's new condo.
The students are to furnish  it and give the measurements.
It is a math and creativity project.
My grandgirl is having a great time, cutting and pasting and creating.
She even brought down her cool pillow for creating comfort.
Into the small sewing room, came Zoe and her bed..

Thanksgiving is about love and family.
I am letting the children go with their mother to her large family gathering.
It is good for the children.

Here at home, there will be a small gathering.
My sister and my son.
My son wants to learn the cooking. He will be great at it.
The empty hole is Mr. O'Quilts...
He always cooked the dinner.
It will be different.
It brings a tear or two to my eye.
Change is hard, Love is everything.

Christmas will be here soon...
My daughter and son will be home.
The children will be with us then..

Check out both links below for  a happy happy night.

More O'Quilts Stuff

Look what I found in a project box...
The blocks are now on the design wall.
I see that a few more are all ready pinned.
It is such a fun thing to find a WIP/UFO
It somehow  looks nicer months years later.

My son cooking pork chops last night for dinner.
Tonight Dylan helped with the potatoes and squash.

This morning 4 of us from our widows quilting group.(.another name to come soon).
worked on outreach quilts for Hospice.
Union Co Hospice had put out on Facebook that they needed some lap quilts...
Our new group is on it..
.Funny, I used to work there...20 years ago.

We now have two lap quilts in progress.
Outstanding work my friends...
A little nap for me and then the grands came home...
I love them so....but...
I am so tired...and my nerves are shot!!!
Thank God my son is here to help me now.

I told him that he did not have to do all this work around here.
He said...Mom, I am so glad to help ..
I know I should have been doing this 5 years ago.!!

It is funny how when the tsunami comes and I think I am drowning,
around the next corner could be a brilliant surprise to save the day.

My son, Eamon....Thank you so much, just for today.
