More Green Fun...

So far, eight little trees all in a row........

Just happened to have on hand this ruler which was the perfect size for the trees...
I cut the light fabric shapes in the general size of what I was looking for...but much larger to allow for shaping up and cutting..
Whipped them into shape with my straight edge ruler!!  Now, you cannot work this way if you like to have control over the end before the beginning!!   I sew with not much of an idea of where I will be going...that is the fun of it.  This block looked best to me cut at oh, about 7.5 by 11 inches...that will do for now.  Using favorite scraps that I love is still a challenge, but brave me presses on...........

Puttering

When I got home from my mother's I saw a big hole in the garden for my rose bush...guess that means my man is better!!  Good news...We are going to a party tonight, but I could not let the sewing room rest...a little puttering before I go.  I was cleaning in there when I found these unfinished wonky blocks...hmmmm, maybe I will do something with them..
And since batting is so expensive, I took a few minutes to sew together some of the scraps.  I rotary cut the edges, one on top of the other so they are straight, then butting them up against each other, I do a loose zigzag....frugal me $$$$  :)

No thinking quilt in orange...Finished

I
I just could not wait till Wednesday to have my group help me baste this...This quilt was asking to be done..begging not to be a WIP!!  So, it is now done..With this kind of bright quilt, I really like a simple quilting, thus the simple parallel lines.
But, now....my awesome orange Kona cotton is all gone(:  Two yards!  I just hated cutting into it, I loved it so...Oh, well...I need to move on!!
Now, I am taking my arthritic body and my Ibuproben to the pool!!

And this was featured on the Wednesday quilt show!!
