So Long, Farewell......

Pumpkin
2000-2016
We loved you so.

I took our girl to the vet this afternoon...our long time vet of 20 years.
He said...average age of cat is 14 years...Pumpkin was 100 in human years.
Diagnosis:
Old age, renal failure, advanced thyroid disease, dementia and if he looked,
He thought he could find more...OMG
She was 7 pounds of love...in agony...
Goodbye Pumpkin..an awesome quilt  lover and dear friend.
Strange but true...Zoe, the black lab used to have great fun chasing the cats.
In the last two weeks, Zoe has hovered near Pumpkin.
Zoe knew, when we did not.
Goodbye good cat..

The Pre-Op party at my "joint"

Tonight,  my widow's group got together for my pre-op party at my house...
Really...any excuse for a party...pot luck..party at my "joint"..ha!!
So fun. Eleven people came with yummy food and laughs.
Flavored waters  shown here...Emily helped me out...
Although, I did notice that most wanted vino and not water.
Stephanie came to help with the cleaning and the kids...
But, Evan was the real hero!!  He helped so much.
Every one loved Evan.
I covered everything that looked messy ...with my quilts.. such the lazy one!!
Here is a  result of  my stress buying ...I love these fabrics so much that I doubt I will be ever able to use them.
I think it is now time for bed...16 year old Pumpkin is so tired from the party that no matter how loud I shouted, she just could not open those eyes for a picture!!!!

A big thanks for all the support and emails from you ...my dear friends.
36 hours and hopefully, the new knee will be installed.
I might just really be able to do this without my dear man....with a little help from my friends.
Ok, a lot of help from my friends.

Riding the Crest

For the love of sewing together!!!!
Auditioning border fabric for Muggs' boat quilt...sunshine and birds...how fun...
Evidently it is not  just what Muggs likes..hmmm
Last night at IQ quilting, 11 women had 11 different choices for border...OMG
Drove me to vino tinto!!! and great laughter amongst us.
Is this OK...or do I need to present more choices, said the eager beaver boat maker??

I found some cool batik fish for the back at Fabric.com. (or border??)
Coming soon....Thank you Cousin Ann...Love you!
Indian Batik Sandy Hook Fish Royal

I have had three good days...all sustained by 3 support groups, 2 widow groups,
7 widow books, 3 quilting groups......
Lunch with friends, my sister, my daughter, friends and my grandchildren.
And, back to the pool and online fabric stores....said the fabric hoarder.
And Stephanie, our nanny:)

There is a lot of anger in grief...snippy, snotty me sometimes...
People who love me, just pick me up, brush me off and love me anyway.
So grateful.

Cats...Everywhere...

Here we go with more of the cat collection...on left a needlepoint pillow made for me by my sister.  On the right from a craft show, my daughter's cat with two color eyes, just like she has.

On the left, a cat I used to know where I got, until.....  On the right below is Pumpkin...vintage for sure at  14 years old.

Then..My Milito caught in the act this morning and not even sorry...At 14, he should be sleeping like Pumpkin and not getting into trouble with my spider plant babies!!!

PS...I went into Tuesday Morning yesterday and found more of my wonderful new Baby Blue..Kenmore Mini Ultra sewing machines just sitting there waiting to have new homes...still $59..OMG., a steal for this machine.
