Red,white and black animal quilt..born in the USA!

It is always nice to have a few quilts tucked away in the proverbial closet for the perfect gift.  I have always liked this quilt but there are few in America now who do not know the sex of the baby before it is born.  Today this quilt found its perfect home:)

Solomon's quilt

My friend, Peggy recently flew to Uganda with her daughter-in-law to pick up her new grandson, Solomon.  Sooo exciting for them!  I think Solomon is about one year old, not too sure, but when they got there he had some parasites and maybe some Malaria.  Thankfully they are home and fine now.  Because my children are adopted too, I have a soft spot in my heart for adoption.  I just finished Solomon's  "Welcome home" quilt.

Samuel's welcome quilt

Peggy and Vic have a new grandson adopted from Ethiopia. He is smart and fun and as you can see, he is totally adorable. This is the grandparent quilt that I made to celebrate Samuel's arrival. Hugs and kisses to him.

Butterflies for Baby Ryan

I found an old pattern published in 1979 (a Patchwork House Pattern by Poppy Morse) of butterflies. I took one of the butterflies and designed this quilt for new baby, Layla Ryan. 2009

Very first blog..../Lynsey's first quilt

Well...this is certainly baby steps into blogging. Speaking of baby, I made this quilt for my first granddaughter, Lynsey. It is machine appliqued and machine quilted on my wonderful Janome 6600. The red lady bugs on white fabric are from a sheet I bought from her registered crib set. I drew the flowers free form.
