Nothing but Chickens

Since my energy is low, and I am wobbly walking, as I recouperate from surgery...no sewing, just enjoying my niece, Aoife and her chickens.
Sunshine is the favorite...fun and beautiful.....Here he rides a scooter with Aoife.
Oh, dear, Oh, dear....Sunshine woke up this morning saying "Cock-a-doodle-doo"  This handsome guy is a rooster.
Roosters are not allowed in the city... Evidently Silkies cannot be sexed until now.....Oh, dear...'
TBTG my girl has a friend in the country who is taking Sunshine....Here he goes to his new home in a box.
Our girl says "goodbye" to Sunshine...
He does not seem too unhappy checking out his new digs...New friends too!!
Our fickle girl has  now caught one of the farm chickens....a stranger chicken that she does not  even know.
Look at the ugly feet....Oh, dear, Grandma O'Quilts evidently is not a chicken lover..

Lucky that Sunshine did not end up in a stew pot...
Nice to have friends.

Now, all about me!!!!!

Oh what a sweetie Aoife is as grows up very quickly! Love the photos of her with Sunshine but feel sad for her also, always hard to part with a pet, whatever it may be. Diane I will be writing to you this weekend - sorry to be so late.

Sorry about Sunshine. Glad I warned you early on but it didn't prevent it--sad and hard. But at least he can live a happy life in the country and Aoife can visit him and his new 🧡 We had 2 beautiful Silkies over our decades of chickens and we knew theyd be roosters soon by their....ummm...rough masculine gymnatic behaviors with the females. We passed ours on to but whole new neighborhood complained and sent a local community leader to tell them not allowed even here. Goodbye beautiful boys. 15 years later our 3rd rooster showrd himself by chasing . We kept him. Made our live a kind of noisy crowing that gives you sissy fits all day long. He died naturally 5 years later...at home in retirement with the other ladies in his harem who were not sad to see him go! He was a beauty ...forget his breed..but teeth gritting noisy!
