A Totally Random Post

Just so you know, Isabella likes her birthday bag!
Below shows the last stitch on my valentine quilt Halloween quilt
In the comforting light of tomorrow, I will show off my second finish of 2020.
Since this is no prize winner, I quilted it with the lovely adjustable wiggle stitch on
my lovely Janome 8900/
Fast and easy...this is not a prize winning quilt.
All the children now have a Halloween quilt for their bed.
My guess is that the  high schooler really does not care...lol

Jeeze Louize did I just spend 9 hours in the emergency room Wednesday night?????
Quite a lesson in gratitude, me thinks...
My doctor wanted to rule out an infection in my hernia...I was expecting an emergency
operation,  TBTG it was an infection in the tissue surrounding the hernia, not the hernia itself... and I was sent home with antibiotics....Amazing Grace.  Others there were not so lucky.

Did You Know that Feeling Abandoned by Your Support System is Perfectly Normal in Grief

Everyone says that they hate meatloaf.
I make the yummiest meatloaf.
Under great pressure, everyone here liked it the night I made it.
However, once the leftovers were defrosted, not one member of my family
would even try a warm meatloaf sandwich...Whatever!! I ate it for two lunches myself.

I love the quotes on Julie's blog. (The Quilts too)
This is from Quiltdivajulie
I so needed this quote today..Thank you A.A. Milne and Julie too!!

Tomorrow Lynsey and I are going to our Charlotte Quilters Guild Sit and Sew
She has a sewing friend her age who is coming too..
Last but not least....a second showing of blooms from a Christmas cactus.
Always telling myself that the morning light saves me.

That slender thread thing...

There is good news in life...and then.....there is not.
Yesterday, I voted with a 20 minute wait...so pleased.
My girl on adventure in the Utah mountains.  I think that they have climbed or biked in all the national parks in Utah!!!
And, here they go.....making me homesick....for our Arizona.
The grief continues...especially with the good doctor's death yesterday.
In just 30 hours, one more widow was created...a wonderful friend of mine.
I hate that she is on this awful journey.
I am back to staying in bed all day and eating candy corn.
Life as we know it, changes in an instant..
What cheers  me????  My daughter of course.
Don't you love this:  From their tent in Utah...address...
Halloween gifts....She must have found a quilting store...my girl!!!
And honey straws for the children.
Evan will come with me to the funeral..He loved the good doc.
I am quite irritated at life now...Praying to get to the place where I can accept life as it is.
My funeral outfit is wearing thin..

Stormy Weather

Random love from yesteryear...
This quilt...gifted to my friend Judy.

 Newborn Lynsey, now 7..
Granddaddy, Lynsey and Evan...now 11
My favorite cat, Milito...insisting who is boss....Milito long gone too
Eamon and Lynsey...OMG..all seem so young
Eamon was there at all the births...helping lift her out..
My DIL...sisters
 Multitasking Granddaddy
 My favorite snowball

Oh..Grief...Why now??
This morning after taking the three children to their camp,
I came home and sat in my recliner, blinds down.
One black dog at my feet, one yellow cat on my lap.
I napped. I cried. I sat. I napped again.
At noon I rolled out of my chair for lunch.

I shook myself and checked my daily list.
I bought new tennis shoes.
I walked less than 10 minutes on the treadmill.
I felt hopeless at it and very very very sore.
(Not having walked in 5/6 years...ouch)
I bought two tomatoes for $3...ouch again.
I had my hair cut.
I read Dylan a story or 5.
I called an app store lady in the Philippines who taught me how to remove an app from my phone???
Then how to re-install the new one..!!!
I did it...after 10 long instructional minutes...
Mudbrain!!

I could not throw off the despair.
15 months gone vs. 37 years together.
I see my dear man everywhere.
I looked for all my gratitude.
I found it plentiful.
Doom persisted.
I could not sew.
I did not eat ice cream, nor chocolate.
Instead I am telling the world.
I am telling you.

Gone to the Dark Side

I have gone to the dark side.  And, it is the fault of CS Lewis.
I am reading widow book number 9, A Grief Observed.
....reading it just before I go to bed, of course.
It is 2:30 am..and I had to get up.

I was starting to go...what point is there??
My best arm has been amputated.  He was everything, I am nothing.
I hurt every day with arthritis..I fell yesterday and now I have a huge, painful bruise.
Everyone else can get a cold, but me...I immediately get asthmatic bronchitis.
So what is the point??.
Steroids will do this to a person!!

.  My sister just brought home Breyer's chocolate ice cream.
When the dark side came, I just got up instead of obsessing.
Happily, I am eating the ice cream.

CS Lewis was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and one of the most influential Christian writers of his day.
When his wife died, his intellect got in the way of his faith.

Where is she?
Others keep putting their faith on me.
She may not be in a better place.  They do not know.
Half of Christian religions and a part of Eastern religions all believe that life after death could well be worse.
OMG

The dark side..
I think that I will read the second half of this book in the day time!!
My reality has changed. Nothing will be the same.
Now that I am up, I know that I will forge my own way and do the best I can.
