Being Happy...My Choice Tonight

My girl ate in a cute cafe where fabric was used as napkin rolls...LOVE
Yesterday, I ventured to a professional workshop for the first time in a few years.
Look what I made while listening..and earning my 4 continuing educational credits!!!!
I ordered the papers online at some site I forgot.
Started making them to sew at doctors' visits with my man, when he was suffering from ALS..!!
Now I carry them with me always...So pleased with myself
I even had lunch and a catch up with friends.  A very nice day.
If you are so inclined...here is Nancy Frates on ALS
It has taken me all this time to even be able to watch it.
So inspired!
I carry my hexies in my cool and awesome bag I made a few years ago from a recycled orange sack.
Love see through things with character!!!

Here is my girl again on a rainy day in the mountains.
She knows I miss her daddy...
She sent me rainbows from out west!!
You Raise Me Up
(Josh Groban went to Interlochen Arts Academy and to Carnegie Mellon,
just like my girl!!!)
Now..this comes in:
Colorado camping...A mind changing event...lol..
And so it goes...I have a free weekend...soooo happy.
Thrilled with Aunt Brandy helping Evan with his homework.
Actually just thrilled with Aunt Brandy!!
Tonight it is about being happy and sewing.
I have so many things to make and so little time..
Gotta get going now.

Truth Everlasting...Just Go Sew

Thru the screen brightly.
The sun!!
Yes...Zoe...the squirrels remember you are still here..

The Only Way to Enjoy Snow

Still only 9 months a widow...or is it one month or is it 100 months??
Making it thru this snowstorm and being snowed in...has brought the worst grief ever...worse than the first Christmas or birthday without him I have been hysterical, terrified, totally alone with my home and my memories. I spent too much time in bed, living on bags of Oreos.
Last night I snapped at my sister when she called to tell me......
that my son was out in the freezing ice storm with no place to go.....
She told him to turn himself in...jail was warm.
It was the right thing to do, but it added to my fears.
I am quite afraid that the road of grief is a rocky one. TBTG the children are having fun elsewhere...Trying to see now in the daytime, the beauty of the snow and to celebrate my survival of yet one more hurdle.
xxoo to you all for listening to the wail.

The good stuff...Lynsey and Evan at the beach with Beth and her boys.

Dylan enjoying the snow with his cousins.
At the end of the day, we did not lose power, the children are having a wonderful time.
I got thru all the bad stuff and am still here to tell about it.
And I sewed...my Dear Man....I sewed.
xxoo

Ramblings from the South!!....

FYI  Charlotte, North Carolina is in the South....!!  The South...and we are now snowed in.  They have called out the National Guard.
We thought we were ready...but the firewood man sold us new wood which will not burn.
 The screened in porch????
Knock on wood, the ice storm is coming on top of the snow.  We are sort of ready...grateful for our electricity..for now..
My husband's five relatives were set on a three day visit to see him.  From Ireland to Tampa to see one brother, they arrived yesterday in the middle of the snowstorm...one of the few flights into Charlotte.  Driving to the hotel was so frightening, that they just could not venture out again.  So close, and yet so far.  TBTG the hotel suggested its favorite van taxi service and TBTG he was brave and strong and true.  Navigating the storm, he not only got them here for a visit, but came back to get them.  Joy!  More snow today keeps them at the hotel.    I, of course have my priorities right....so excited with my presents..Irish dish towels...

 ....and fat quarter treats....:)
The new handicap bathroom is almost complete.

New chair lift for $3000....but oh, so worth it.
The children went off with the best of the best to play in the snow with their kids...Life is good.
Dishes done, laundry done, Irish soda bread baked....all cozy so far, snowed in in Charlotte.
