Look what I found in a project box...
The blocks are now on the design wall.
I see that a few more are all ready pinned.
It is such a fun thing to find a WIP/UFO
It somehow looks nicer months years later.
Tula #18
My son cooking pork chops last night for dinner.
Tonight Dylan helped with the potatoes and squash.
This morning 4 of us from our widows quilting group.(.another name to come soon).
worked on outreach quilts for Hospice.
Union Co Hospice had put out on Facebook that they needed some lap quilts...
Our new group is on it..
.Funny, I used to work there...20 years ago.
We now have two lap quilts in progress.
Outstanding work my friends...
A little nap for me and then the grands came home...
I love them so....but...
I am so tired...and my nerves are shot!!!
Thank God my son is here to help me now.
I told him that he did not have to do all this work around here.
He said...Mom, I am so glad to help ..
I know I should have been doing this 5 years ago.!!
I know I should have been doing this 5 years ago.!!
It is funny how when the tsunami comes and I think I am drowning,
around the next corner could be a brilliant surprise to save the day.
My son, Eamon....Thank you so much, just for today.

You are loved !
I read an article in an old magazine called 60% and it talked about how sometimes when you get a quilt about 60% done you just grow tired of it. Well the author keeps those in a special place and then when she needs a quick gift for say a wedding, graduation, or baby shower...she goes to the 60% drawer, pulls on UFO out and in just a little bit more time, she has a completed quilt to give. I thought that was genius.
I can certainly see why you're tired, but I think you are doing great!
I'm still resistant, but have come to realize that "tired" is a permanent condition for some of us ~ ~ so I encourage you to sleep, rest, recover when you can and endure otherwise!!
Oh, I love the 60% suggestion. I think I do that subconsciously, but it's a great plan.
I am so thankful with you, Diane, for your Eamon and these rich moments in time. Treasures for each of you. May it restore your spirit and nourish your heart.
Amen! Well said, Karaquilts! Thankful for son Eamon to become such a help to you.
Yes, I love the 60% idea also. I just have to find a space for that box that will hold them! Diane, your posts almost always touch my heart and leave a big lump in my throat. I am cheering for you, Eamon, the grands and everybody else in your circle of love. There is nothing nicer than enjoying the "ups" in life to their fullest. The lows will always come, too, but for now...savor it! XXOO
You need to rest when the children are in school. I am glad you have your quilting friends, but sewing is so so therapeutic.
I read this post,I laughed and I cried and I rejoiced. You crazy lovely indomitable woman. One of my tribe. God bless Eamon, your grands, your friends and you! Today and every "just for today" lots and lots of kudos and hugs all around.
When you need to rest just do it, no guilt! Looking after yourself and the three children takes a heap of time, energy and emotion, you are a treasure to take care of them. Happy that Eamon was there with you today and what a treat to have your meal cooked for you.
